Broadcast Initiatives Ltd has announced that the Company which concluded its maiden IPO in the month of February, is all set to launch world’s first Bhojpuri Channel, in the fourth quarter of 2007. “Bhojpuri market is developing, as a very strong regional market and the enormous success of the Bhojpuri cinema can be duplicated in the television arena through a concentrated effort in specialised content for that market. The group is known for many media initiatives in the past and with regional markets growing at a rapid pace accounting, for more than 24% of the total Television advertising pie there is a concentrated effort by the group to target these markets by launching the Bhojpuri channel and an already launched Marathi entertainment channel Mi Marathi” said Mr. Markand Adhikari, Vice Chairman and MD. Most of the regional markets have at an average 6-7 regional language channels and the Company’s foray into the Bhojpuri market will give that market its first regional language channel. The Company already has two channels, one news and current affairs channel Janmat and a Marathi General Entertainments Channel Mi Marathi, in the Subsidiary of the Company Sri Adhikari Brothers Media Ltd (SABML). After the maiden IPO of the Company, Company is investing hugely in the latest equipment and technology for the news channel Janmat and this new revamped avatar will be visible in the month of July. Mi Marathi a Marathi entertainment channel has a strong foothold in the Marathi market and in the third month of its launch has already posed 2nd position in terms of reach after Zee Marathi with 33% reach as compared to ETV which has 31% reach in whole of Maharashtra, (Source TAM, period Week 24, TG Females 15+ SEC ABC, whole day). “Being a dialect of Hindi we are confident of grabbing good market share in Bhojpuri market and will be completely equipped to take first mover advantage”, said Mr. Markand Adhikari, Vice Chairman and MD.

Gail India Ltd has announced that The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in India, His Excellency Mr. Saleh Moh’d Al-Ghamdi visited the Company on June 28, 2007 and met the Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. U D Choubey and senior GAIL officials to discuss about possible mutual cooperation, specially in gas and gas related business. The Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Saleh Moh’d Al-Ghamdi praised the Company for its performance and said he was keen to ensure greater cooperation between the two countries. One of the main points for discussion related to the setting up of a Petrochemicals plant by the Company based on propane feedstock sourced from Saudi Arabia. The Ambassador assured the Company that he would try and assist wherever possible in the matter of feedstock procurement on long term basis.

Amrit Banaspati Company Ltd has informed BSE that the Scheme of Arrangement (’The Scheme’) between the Company and ABC Paper Ltd (ABC Paper) and Amrit Enterprises Ltd (AEL) has been sanctioned by the Hon’ble High Courts of Allahabad, Delhi and Chandigarh. The orders of the High Courts have been filed with the concerned Registrar of Companies for all the three Companies on June 23, 2007 and, therefore, the ‘Effective Date’ of the Scheme is June 23, 2007. The Scheme inter alia provides for allotment of shares by the Transferee Companies i.e. ABC Paper and AEL and re-organization of the share capital by the Company as under: 1. In consideration of the demerger and vesting of the Paper Undertaking in ABC Paper Ltd. (ABC Paper), ABC Paper shall without any further application or deed, issue and allot to the equity shareholders of the Company as on the Record Date, two (2) Equity Shares of the face value of Rs 10/- each credited as fully paid-up for every four (4) Equity Shares of the face value of Rs 10/- each of the Company. 2. In consideration of the demerger and vesting of the Edible Oils Undertaking in Amrit Enterprises Ltd. (AEL), AEL shall without any further application or deed, issue and allot to the equity shareholders of the Company as on the Record Date, one (1) Equity Shares of the face value of Rs 10/- each credited as fully paid-up for every four (4) Equity Shares of the face value of Rs 10/- each of the Company. 3. Upon vesting in and transfer of the Paper Undertaking and Edible Oils Undertaking to ABC Paper and AEL respectively, the Company shall, for every four (4) fully paid-up Equity Shares of Rs 10/- each held by the equity shareholders on the Record Date, without any further application or deed, reduce and cancel two (2) fully paid-up Equity Shares of the face value of Rs 10/- each against the allotment and issuance of Equity Shares by ABC Paper and one (1) fully paid-up Equity Share of the face value of Rs 10/- each against the allotment and issuance of Equity Shares by AEL under the Scheme.

Suzlon Energy Ltd has informed BSE that Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation, the USA, the step-down subsidiary of the Company has extended its contract with PPM Energy of Portland, Oregon, the USA to add 300 MW of wind turbine capacity to become one of the largest single contracts in the history of the Company and the US wind energy industry. The original agreement calls for delivery of 300 MW of turbine capacity in 2008 and 100 MW of capacity in 2009, but now has been extended to include an additional 300 MW in 2009 for a total of 700 MW over two years.
