News Verification : The media had reports that Dolphin Offshore Enterprises (India) Limited may form a joint venture with a Brunei-based company and acquire two offshore support vessels. The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company. Dolphin Offshore Enterprises (India) Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated,”The company has been approached by a local Brunei company for providing them vessels on long term charter which are required to assist that company in executing its contracts for painting Brunei Shell Petroleum Offshore platforms. DOEL is currently in negotiations for setting up a joint venture company in Brunei to acquire these vessels. These discussions are still in a preliminary stage. DOEL has identified suitable vessels which could be acquired by this joint venture company, but the acquisitions will only be concluded if and when the joint venture company is incorporated and contract terms satisfactorily included.”
