The BSE Sensex carried on its downswing for the 2nd successive session due to feeble European cues. Selling was witnessed in oil & gas exploration, realty, capital goods, power, metal, pharmacy and banking firms’ shares. The BSE Sensex declined 129 points and the NSE was 43 points low.
The Nifty traded feebly and plunged towards 4600 at 15.09 hrs IST. Heavy selling stress was witnessed in power, pharmacy, realty, metal, oil & gas and capital goods stocks. Stocks such as ICICI Bank, L&T, Reliance, Infosys and HDFC were the downbeat contributors to the BSE Sensex. The BSE was 153.20 points low at 15513.44, and the NSE was 45.05 points low at 4617.05.
