NHPC power creation plunges by 200-mn units on low rainfall

India has got 24% less than standard rains 2009, leading to a dearth and drought-like situation in 278 regions in 11 states.
The hydro-power producer that today got enrolled on the bourses has 13 power stations in the North and North-East of the country.
A couple of its power factories in Madhya Pradesh are entirely rain-fed and have been impacted by listless monsoons.
The company plans to produce nearly 17,200 million units in fiscal 2010.
