Air India cautions of reduction in salaries in case of strike
Friday, July 3, 2009 11:46 amAir India on Friday, cautioned its staff of allowance and wage reduction if they joined the projected 2-hour “unlawful” strike this afternoon to dissent overdue imbursement of wages.
Air Corporation Employees Union, Aviation Industry Employees Guild and some other unions have endangered to leave their offices countrywide and stage demonstrations from 1300-1500 hours on Friday apart from menacing to shun their meetings with the organization.
Reportedly, Air India CMD Arvind Jadhav had addressed the staff through a letter that apart from wages and salary payments, fuel and bank charges such as interest and principal payments has to be remunerated timely every month.
Nevertheless, the unions accused the administration of “going back on their word” to disburse the salaries by Friday.
The unions had canceled their projected strike on 30th June after the administration agreed to disburse wages of 70% of staff by Friday. They were against the previous decision of the management to postpone the June salary by July mid.
