Midday Note: Market on the positive side

The BSE Sensex traded up along with some instability while the NSE Nifty floated nearly the 4800 level at 10:47 hours IST. The gap in market extent also dropped; nearly 791 shares rushed while 413 shares fell on the Nifty. Buying was witnessed in cement, metal and select power stocks. SBI, Bharti, Hero Honda, Reliance Industries, TCS, M&M, Cipla and Ranbaxy Labs were also high.
Nevertheless, selling in BPCL, HUL, Reliance Communication, ONGC, Infosys, Tata Power, Unitech, ITC and Sun Pharmacy restricted the profits to some degree.
The NSE Nifty was 29 points high and the BSE Sensex earned 105 points. The wider indices were 0.5-0.8% high.
Suashish Diamon, Money Matters, Mukand, Resurgere Mines and Cholamandalam earned 10-14% while Panyam Cements, Dolphin Offshore, Honda Siel, Austral Coke and Nagarjuna Agri fell 4-6%.
BF Utilities, MindTree, Spice Communication, Nirma and Kirloskar Brothers soared. Nevertheless, Sun Pharmacy Advanced, GMDC, Amtek Auto and Atlas Copco dropped.
