Siemens receives deal from Vedanta Aluminium
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 10:35 amSiemens has received deal from Vedanta Aluminium to offer high voltage power distribution network for the 2nd phase of growth of the latter’s Jharsuguda smelter factory at Orissa.
The Rs.112crore power growth package for Phase II will boost the competence of the smelter factory from 0.5 mtpa to 1.75 mtpa, therefore Vedanta’s national production of aluminum slab would amplify three-fold from the factory.
The extent of work for Siemens will comprise supply, installation, designing, engineering, testing and commissioning of 33KV and 11KV electrical distribution network. Additionally, the company will also provide power and distribution transformers, DC distribution, cabling, voltage VCB panels, SCADA systems and other auxiliaries. The venture is planned to finish by the year 2010.
