Markets bounced back after two days of dip. Significant buying all over the sectors, particularly FMCG, auto, realty, metal and infrastructure helped the Nifty to close over the 4500 level and the Sensex over the 15,000 mark effectively. All the sector indices had a positive close. Firm profits from bigwigs such as ITC, Maruti Suzuki and ACC also boosted the street with soaring above 5%. Bharti Airtel’s US GAAP figures were also decent but the stock dipped slightly. Mahindra Satyam turned out to be a great performer on Thursday, joining the group of top 5 IT firms on the foundation of market cap. The stock rushed 14.2% and closed over the Rs.100 mark after over 6 months and Tech Mahindra earned only 1.87%.
The 30-share Sensex got high with 387.92 points to 15,231.04 and the 50-share Nifty ended at 4523.75. The wider indices also ended 2% up. The NSE July futures ended with 16 points premium.
Maruti’s Quarter 1 net gain ascended 25.27% and net sales were at Rs.6, 340.2crore, Year-on-Year. ITC’s Quarter1 net gain leaped high 17.36% and net sales got over only 4.69%, Year-on-Year.
ACC, Maruti Suzuki and ITC were among the chief 6 earners on the BSE as their June quarter profits were promising. These stocks earned 5.8%, 6.44% and 5.55%, correspondingly.
