Essar Oil plans to amalgamate for retail market share

Presently, the company has 1,250 fuel stores situated at rural areas, highways, tier II and III cities. The company plans to address food outlets and will also provide auto LPG at its stores. Essar Oil has a coalition with Rallis for marketing chemicals, pesticides and NSC for seeds at 60 fuel pumps in rural areas. Its pumps in tier II cities have dairy goods from Amul for sale.
The company is in discussions with LPG marketers like ELF of France, SHV of the Netherlands and Mumbai-based Aegis. It will begin selling LPG via 10 stores in the present economic itself. Each service will be for Rs.55-60lakh. The company expects to sell 40kl of LPG sale monthly.
Establishing food courts, shopping services and better rest-rooms are also part of the company’s agenda. It plans to broaden its retail complex to 1,500 stores by the fiscal’s end. The company anticipates that the government will execute market-related fuel pricing device for a level playing field with the public sector firms.
