Bharat Sanchar Nigam introduces wireless services

Wireless broadband services in Gujarat have been introduced by Bharat Sanchar Nigam in alliance with United States SOMA system.
The new broadband service will provide 256 kbps to 2 Mbps level of speeds.
The first one to gain from this service in the state is Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation.
GIDC will provide this service to industries in their estates.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam has joined hands with SOMA to organize WiMax services in states like Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and SOMA has allocated in the system execution and would also operate the service in place of BSNL.
