Indian Oil commissions oil pipeline in eastern India
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 1:58 pmIndia’s largest state-run oil refiner, Indian Oil Corp said it has begun commissioning a 102 kilometre oil pipeline in eastern India, which will cut its transportation costs.
The pipeline, which runs from the port city of Paradip in Orissa state to Haldia in West Bengal cost Rs14.20 billion ($293 million) and includes a single-point mooring system at Paradip port, the company said in a statement late on Tuesday.
The project also includes laying a 330 kilometre crude oil pipeline to join with its present Haldia-Barauni pipeline at Haldia.
