Jet Airlines on Wednesday called off more than 100 Indian and international flights running from several cities with its pilots’ strike carrying on for the second day.

The National Aviators Guild has resolved to cancel its planned strike remonstrating against the dismissal of two of their senior colleagues by the airline’s administration.

Jet Airways (India) Ltd yesterday asked for time till 7th September from the labor commissioner’s office to review the registration papers of the NAG, a fresh pilots’ union constituted in July.

Reportedly, due to postponement in payment of their wages by Air India management, more than 20,000 members of airlines’ staff’s unions had gone on strike today.

Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and SpiceJet rushed after the government on Thursday, resolved to create a Group of Ministers to consider the issues addressed by the downturn-hit airlines.

SpiceJet on Wednesday stated that it has seen a strong enhancement in demand and anticipates recording a 10% increase in traveler traffic in July but fewer gains still stay a reason of alarm.

Although, the broader market did witness some action, the bulls remained languid after a two-week rally.

The management of Air India is in discussions with a segment of its worker unions to turn away a strike on the subject of postponement of June wages.

SpiceJet on Thursday raised fuel surcharge by Rs.400, a day after private national airlines Kingfisher Airlines and Jet Airways declared their verdict.

Domestic markets closed the week in the positive zone with the Sensex closing over the 15,100 mark.
