Maruti Suzuki India introduced on Tuesday a latest edition of its small car Estilo with a fuel competent engine at a preliminary cost between Rs.3.12lakh to Rs.3.95lakh.

Maruti Suzuki has rolled out over one lakh of these units that power the two small cars, A-Star and Ritz within 10 months of starting production of its KB-series engines.

1.75lakh shares have been traded on BSE in the counter as opposed to a standard everyday volume of 1.44lakh shares in the last single quarter.

Maruti Suzuki India presently trades at Rs.846, which is higher by 12.05 points from its last close of Rs.833.95 on the Sensex.

Maruti Suzuki India plans to raise its production competence by 2 lakh units to turn it into 11 lakh units yearly over subsequent 2 years.

At present, Maruti Suzuki India trades at Rs.690.65, which is high by 13.05 points from its earlier closing of Rs.677.60 on the Sensex.

Tata Motors low at 1.83% bounced back from intra-day down of Rs.130.20.

Maruti Suzuki India’s sales stood at 697,850 units during January-December 2008 whereas those of Suzuki Motor Corporation for the same time stood at 679,215 units.

1.91 lakh shares traded in the counter on BSE. The stock had a standard daily volume of 3 lakh shares in the last one quarter.

The BSE Sensex Auto index was low with 1.92% at 12:06 IST.
