Nifty NSE ascended over the 4900 level for the first time since 28th May, last year due to institutional buying for the 2nd day in metal, banking and auto stocks.

Hindalco Industries, JSL, Sterlite Industries, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Steel Authority of India, Ispat Industries, Sesa Goa, Jindal Steel & Power, Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren, Maharashtra Seamless, National Aluminum Company and Bhushan Steel soared high.

The NSE Nifty held the 4900 level at 11:07 hours IST, though there was some profit booking at bigger standards.

The BSE Sensex hit a six-day upswing and ended slightly down due to the feeble international cues and profit booking in realty, select metal, telecom, cement, capital goods and private banking stocks.

The BSE Sensex ended up for 4th successive day due to the substantial upswing in strong Reliance Industries that earned 4.7%.

The BSE Sensex traded with instability at 12:05 hours IST.

The NSE Nifty sustained the uptrend for 3rd successive day and ended over another landmark - 4800 for the first time since 30th May, last year.

The Sensex Metal index was 1.63% high at 11:10 IST.

The BSE Sensex traded up along with some instability while the NSE Nifty floated nearly the 4800 level at 10:47 hours IST.

The NSE Nifty reached a new 2009 high as international markets were helpful today at 12:41 hours IST.
