Jain Irrigation Systems, initial drip irrigation in the country has received a deal from the World Bank valued at Rs.77.8crore including 22,345 hectare of property.

The World Bank has declared that the eight year ban forced on Satyam Computer Services will be evaluated if the IT major takes remedial action.

The World Bank has appointed another Indian IT major Tata Consultancy Services to do much of the work formerly being done by Satyam, which has now been debarred by the bank from doing business with it.

The World Bank on Monday revealed that apart from Satyam Computer Services Ltd, it had barred Wipro Ltd and Mega soft Ltd from doing any work for it for “providing improper benefits to bank staff” in the first instance, and “participating in a joint venture with bank staff while also conducting business with the bank” in the second.

The global IT services business of Wipro, Wipro Techno announced that in connection with revised disclosure policies, Wipro and the World Bank are unveiling that in June 2007 the World Bank determined Wipro to be unable to contest direct contracts from the World Bank for the period 2007-2011.

World Bank rejected the IT Company, Satyam Computers’ request for an apology on the statement issued by the bank commanding an eight year ban on any business with the IT major.
